Am I just not updated, or people are really not picketing outside Petron headquarters?

When there's an oil price hike on the other hand...

well it's not, but the quality of the response of our government (e.g. it took nearly two weeks since the tanker sank before the government really paid attention) leads to more political issues...mas inuuna pa yun chacha at impeachment

definitely NOT. Kung magmatigas nga ang Petron I will not hesitate to support calls for boycott. Kapal nila ha.

i think meron nang moves/campaign to boycott Petron but for me personally I'd rather wait and see how they'll make good on their promise to compensate the victims/affected and do the cleanup. syempre kawawa rin ang Petron, I mean, yun mga nagtatrabaho dun (nevermind the board of directors and management)

I guess the difference is that the oil spill was not a deliberate choice by Petron. On the other hand people see that oil price hikes are decided on by Petron management (even Petron tries to explain about rising crude prices, yadah-yadah.)

Now, if Petron said, hey let's sink this this huge oil tanker into the Visayan Sea and fill the ocean with slick (reminds me of Captain Planet villans, BTW, polluting basically for the heck of it) then we'll see mobs.

EDIT: If Petron refuses to do something about it, however, that would be tantamount to ecological rape (or more accurately, refusing to own up to being the father after "what happened" to Mother Earth). So then it'll be appropriate for people to be enraged about it, as if they sunk the tanker themselves in the first place. When this becomes clear, we'll see if Filipinos will feel the same righteous anger they feel towards political scandals, or if we don't care as much about the environment.

just tell your relatives, friends, neighbors even your favorite jeepney or taxi driver to avoid filling up with PETRON. mahirap ba ito gawin? i am not counting on this govt anymore. lets do this for our children's sake.

how long are you going to wait, pag namatay na sa gutom yung mga pobreng mangingisda sa Guimaras?

we're not blinds nor my relatives and my friends. We keep an eye on this, but to perform rally on Petron's building now way though that's just less than 50 steps away from my office. You, why not take the lead among those political activists shouting for impeachment, etc and take a walk here. Why are they so silent today. Is it because for several times the impeachment was proved to be insufficient and worthless?

What do you know about Petrons responsibility? They have accepted its moral responsibilty in the case and legal probe will be taken by the DOJ? Since youdont trust DOJ maybe you would say the probe will be flawed.

Avoid filling up with Petron? Are you serious? In our little town in batangas Petron and Shell is the only gas station.

If you dont trust our government then that's fine. The government still cares for its people. Even you. If you dont feel it, then just take a deep breath. You still have a good job today and was assured to have tommrow. You tend to generalize always.
