What is maximum length of standard network cable that doesnt affect the speed?

what kind of cable? and what kind of network connection?
it varies from one form of connection to another. like 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet has a max distance of 100 m; regardless of how long your cable is, it's supposed to perform at 100 Mbps. on the other hand, DSL is sensitive to your distance from the telco central office.
basically according to some information theory, bandwidth is dictated by the achievable signal-to-noise ratio. of course, the longer the cable the greater the distortion, hence a lower signal-to-noise ratio. Shannon's theorem ba tawag dito, nakalimutan ko na
