questions:
1) what are you using to encrypt the data?
2) how are you saving it to the database? (show us your SQL, for instance)
3) what is the data type of the field you are saving the encrypted data to?
4) are you using the MySQL .NET Connector (driver) ?
5) is the data properly saved in the database table yet cannot be properly retrieved in the code?
