Why was friendster so slow back then?

    Once during our development period my boss and I were discussing about the drawbacks that Java technology could give us. I used friendster.com as a basis of analysis since they used JSP before and have experienced slow-down with it. baka di lang talaga marunong ng good design considerations sa Java yun gumawa ng friendster dati. anyway i'm not a Java expert at all so maybe we should hear it from the Java experts in this community.

iba kasi ang design considerations pag PHP ang gamit mo, or kung ASP.NET, or kung Java. so kung design pang-PHP ang alam mo pero Java ang gamit mo, don't expect it to perform well.
