Two More Books Up For Grabs!

I have just received a message from Woody Pewitt that he would be giving away 2 more books courtesy of Microsoft.

Here's the book to be given away:

Writing Secure Code, Second Edition
Author Michael Howard and David LeBlanc
Pages 800
Disk N/A
Level Intermediate
Published 12/04/2002
ISBN 0-7356-1722-8

About the Book

Discover the best practices for writing secure code and stopping malicious hackers in their tracks—direct from the top security experts at Microsoft!

Keep black-hat hackers at bay with the tips and techniques in this entertaining, eye-opening book! Developers will learn how to padlock their applications throughout the entire development process—from designing secure applications to writing robust code that can withstand repeated attacks to testing applications for security flaws. Easily digested chapters reveal proven principles, strategies, and coding techniques. The authors—two battle-scarred veterans who have solved some of the industry’s toughest security problems—provide sample code in several languages. This edition includes updated information about threat modeling, designing a security process, international issues, file-system issues, adding privacy to applications, and performing security code reviews. It also includes enhanced coverage of buffer overruns, Microsoft® .NET security, and Microsoft ActiveX® development, plus practical checklists for developers, testers, and program managers.

So whats the catch?

The only things that you need to do to get this awesome piece of software are:

A.) You must be a Filipino developer/student living in the Philippines

B.) You must be a member of devPinoy.org

C.) And lastly, you must create a blog/article post here in devPinoy entitled "Why should I write secure code?" in English. (Blog space is free here at devPinoy! All you need to do is sign-up here and shoot an email to devpinoy@gmail.com that you want a blog and we'll setup your account!)

Shipping and handling will be paid by us so you dont need to worry about it! Selection and announcement of the winners would be done by February 24, 2006.

So what are you waiting for? Don't miss this chance! Start blogging now! God Bless everyone!

well ako rin i do that, mas madali kasi gumawa secure account later for the app to use (imo). pero maganda siguro that you have security in place in the first place (ano raw?)
