viewing directory file size on windows explorer

Published 02-08-2006 4:51 AM | jokiz

i was about to install vs 2005 on my machine when i figured that i needed more space.  i wanted to find the size of each folder in the root directory of my C drive (the guy who used this computer is very organized) so i searched usenet and was lucky to find the answer.

just hover your mouse on a particular directory, don't double click and windows will estimate the size and provide the information as a tooltip. more windows tip here (http://www.pcguru.plus.com/winxphelp.html)

The freeware TreeSize from Jam Software does the same thing too and it's not limited to XP. (www.jam-software.com)
